Flash Game/Interaction/Quiz Questions
How do I edit the templates?
You must have Flash to edit these templates. You get the Flash source file (.fla). You open the template in Flash and simply add the text to the movie clips. If you are more comfortable in Flash then you can change/edit anything else that you’d like. View our video tutorials to see how it’s done.
What eLearning authoring programs/software can use these templates?
Our templates will work with any software that allows a Flash (.swf) import. For example tools such as Rapid Intake, Articulate, Lectora, Captivate, Udutu, Moodle, iSpring, and so forth.
How are the flash games, interactions, and quizzes different from the online Interaction Builder?
The Interaction Builder is an online tool that let’s you choose from many different templates. You add text, images, audio and choose a theme that you like. You then download a single flash file (.swf). You do not have access to the Flash source (.fla) files and can not customize the structure or functionality of the interactions. If you have Flash and know how to use it, then you may want to use the Flash Games, Interactions, and Quizzes where you get the source files and can customize anything you’d like. If you don’t have Flash then try our Interaction Builder.
What versions of Flash are supported?
The files work with Flash CS3, 4, 5 software.
Are these files actionscript 2 or 3?
Both. We give you both files with each purchase.
What if I don’t have Flash?
No problem. If you’d like to use one of our Flash templates, and don’t have flash, we can do the editing for you. Our hourly rates are very reasonable and most edits are simple. Contact us to discuss. You could also check out eLearningInteractions.com.
What if I don’t know how to edit the templates?
Though most edits to the templates are very easy to make, we do provide you with a training tutorials page. If there are additional editing question, that are not found there, we are happy to assist you. Contact us with you questions.
Can I use these files in content that I sell?
Yes. You can build content using these files as long as you don’t resell them as templates.
Do I need to buy multiple licenses?
You are required to purchase one set of template files per group. You are allowed to share the files with your immediate work group. However the files are not to be used by multiple groups unless you have purchased multiple sets of files.
How do I make the Flash templates work in Articulate?
Edit the file in Flash, publish the .swf, and then click the Insert Flash button in Articulate and choose these settings:
- Advance to next slide: When user clicks next
- Synchronization: Movie plays independently of slide
What files are included?
Each template comes with the .fla Flash source file and the .swf.
Do the templates come in different colors?
Since you have the .fla source file you can choose any color you’d like.
Are the Games and Quizzes SCORM compatible and compliant?
Yes. With the included files and instructions you can track the scores in an LMS. Basically embed the published quiz .swf into an html page and the SCORM communication “wrapper” will pass the score to the LMS. Very simple…we provide all the needed files. (Note: The games/quizzes can use SCORM to pass the score when they are used as stand-alone quizzes. It does not function the same way once you embed them in another “SCORM publishing” software such as Articulate, Captivate, Unison, Lectora, etc.)

I get an error when trying to install the skins. What should I do?
The custom skin feature only became available in Articulate ’09 version 6.2.907.1413 and later. Go to the Articulate tab in PowerPoint / Help and Support / Check for Updates. This will ensure that you have the latest updates.
Do all of the Skin features work in Articulate’s preview mode?
No. Some times the skin features don’t get “triggered” until you publish the course. For example at times you may not see the PPT notes while previewing. Don’t worry they will work when published.
Will the Skins work when a new version of Articulate Presenter comes out?
Maybe. It depends on what Articulate changes/tweaks between versions of their software. Our skins are designed for Articulate ’09. We don’t guarantee that the will work with future releases. We will do our best to updates the skins to work with future releases but that may mean that we have to completely re-code the skins. If so we would need to charge an upgrade fee. As we learn more about Articulate’s plans we’ll be able to be more specific.
